We got busy :-D

Apologies for the delay, I didn't realize it's been like 2+ weeks since my last update.  We've been busy!  For those of you behind--we've had Scarlett's 8th grade volleyball championship (they wonπŸ†) her 14th birthday, Vivian's NHS induction, Tom's 11th round of chemo...and likely a few other things happening that I'm forgetting πŸ˜‰

We are all still hanging in there!  From Tom's chemo visit last week (10/15) he was up slightly in his weight at 148lbs and his CA 19-9 was 175 (previously 276 on 10/1) so continuing to drop which is good!  This last round of chemo has been a bit tougher on him or the shift in weather or both.  He is continuing the cold sensitivity in his hands longer and has just been pretty fatigued but also not sleeping great.  It could be the chemo effects...or that we've been busy...or all the above!  His appetite has struggled to bounce back as well which is typically doing better by this point.  So we'll see how things go this week.

We are still on track to head up to Mayo in about a month, mid November.  Tom and I will be making 2 separate day trips--the first trip for bloodwork, the CT, and chatting with the surgeon.  The 2nd trip includes the PET scan and Dr. Truty wants to repeat the abdominal washing procedure (where they put fluid in his abdomen, swish it around, and suck it back out) for testing.  It's one of the ways they check for concerns of metastasis, especially what they call micro metastasis.

My parents and Jason are in town visiting so they have gotten to see some of the girls events and help with some chores around the house for me.  Other than that--we are getting prepped/stressed for all the holiday seasons.  This time of year always seems to be a whirlwind with the normal Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas run down and generally holiday events in between, I anticipate this year will be even busier with the potential for chemo, radiation, and surgery added to the mix.

We continue to appreciate all your thoughts, prayers, and support; much love to you all πŸ’–
